LET’S ENGAGE CHILDRENS IN CLASS

A child needs to be nurtured into being a responsible citizen of tomorrow. Learning holds an important part in shaping an individual. School is considered to be the epitome of a child’s cognitive behavior. The teachers are the flag bearers of enthusiasm and motivation for every child. It is through the lens of the teachers that a pupil learns the basic problem-solving abilities that help them boost morale and dedication amongst the young minds.

A tender mind can be involved in a lot of chaos during his stint at school. Retaining their attention at a particular place for a longer duration is an added task for the teachers. To keep a child engaged during the day at school, a teacher can adopt a few tactics to indulge a student in a daily classroom activity-

1Commencing the class with an interesting fact: Presenting some facts to the students before the commencement of a class carves the way for a child to perform and engage better in class. An interesting fact being narrated in the best possible way helps children retain better and longer.

A teacher can narrate a few real-life fun situations to the students to motivate and inspire them. Sharing some snippets from your real-life situations can create a bond between a teacher and student, thus making the classroom experience enjoyable.

2. Mind Warm-Up activities: Children constantly need to keep themselves busy with something or the other. Engaging a child in a creative, playful environment spell wonders in a child’s all-around development. If the minds of the younger lot are put to the test, their imagination takes leaps and bounds. It has been noticed that a mindful activity before starting a class can help eliminate fear and anxiety.

Warming up the senses before commencing a class proves beneficial for social interactions and increased communications. A fruitful group activity amongst students helps increase student involvement in the class.

3. Encourage enthusiasm and motivation: Encourage a child into learning something new and interesting every day. Let them follow their passion and motivate them to do better in their future endeavors.

Every child is born different and reacts to situations differently. Teachers must understand the needs of a child and form a friendly bond with their pupils. Engaging activities and letting a student lead from the front proves to be advantageous for a teacher, thus grasping attention.

4. Involve Movement amongst children: Involving students at various mind games and activities during school hours may help them enhance and learn the basic tactics of performing in groups and tackling pressures and anxiety. Few mind storming sessions before the class proves to be beneficial for a teacher in retaining the attention of the children.

5. Increased Group Activities: A child develops their cognitive abilities through increased social interactions. Working in groups among the people you know, makes a child take up the charge. The fear of public speaking is eliminated while performing in groups. A child motivated to actively engage in these activities, helps them stay attentive in the class and perform better in the activities.
