Little learnings make a difference in a child’s life

Childhood is one of the crucial phases for an individual. It is a foundational period for the growing years. Important teachings are introduced to children during this period, which leads to steady growth.  From sowing seeds of education and personality development, children receive training from their childhood days. It is believed that anything exposed in childhood is etched in the person forever, without losing its essence in the long run. Therefore, it is crucial to forge the teachings and exposure in a child in the childhood stage with utmost care.

In this scenario, schools can play a significant role in moulding the children accordingly. Schools can emphasize little learning by encouraging and engaging the students in activities which are beneficial and productive for them. Little learnings are essential for substantial development in children. There’s a common practice prevalent in Indian households where kids get the leverage of not aiding parents in their chores and are left to only idle around. This mentality is non-productive. Although not followed in households, schools can rather take the lead in imbibing values and practices that parents often neglect concerning their children’s age groups. These learnings can take the form of several habits. It is high time to transition the mentality by holistically educating students.

Schools can make a difference through their approach by exposing children to little learning. Schools can conduct regular sessions focusing on personal care and responsibilities such as following table manners and folding their clothes. Children should be imparted the idea of caring for the environment through gardening activities. They should be taught and guided on respecting and giving utmost importance to small lives like the flora and fauna around them. In today’s scenario, given the crisis of gender equality, it is important to induce the understanding of gender equality among children by emphasizing that neither a boy nor a girl should be differentiated on the work they are engaged in. Households should specifically introduce gender equality among children, where both children get subjected to an equal share of work for assisting their parents.
