The practice of Problem-solving starts at home

Are you aware that problem-solving can be a game-changer in one’s life? Being able to solve one’s own problem is as much important as prioritizing your peace. The basic practice of solving problems starts at home.

Shemford Futuristic School, Guwahati realizes that the root of students’ problem-solving skills begins with their family’s support at home. We believe in making children innovative and think creatively about the issues they would face in their life outside the school.

Being a parent, it is understandable that there is a tendency to always help your children with their work and at times you would complete their tasks. This forms a habit for the children to be dependent on their parents leaving them inferior to the world.

The first fundamental approach to problem-solving that should be offered to your child is the skill of problem-solving and its process.  Slowly, proceed with letting them understand what the root of their problems is which will help in solving the problem. The child must be taught to address his or her challenges.

For beginners, teach your children to take small steps at a time for solving problems, and not to rush things as they might stumble, this might help your children to understand what is responsibility and how to own their responsibilities and mistakes as well.

It is necessary for parents to guide their children but make sure not to overdo things for them. Parents must try not to solve or fix their problems on behalf of their children, later on, it will be difficult for them to manage or face the challenges on their own.

The practice of problem-solving skills will prepare the child to deal with their day-to-day issues related to life and also problems related to their academic program. It is a method that will help the children to shape up their self-esteem, and realize their responsibility as an independent individual.
